joy of seasons

Mission

In our desire to connect with older adults we visited many different countries and cruised to distant islands. The gift of our journeys has been the discovery of the common threads we share as human beings. It isn’t the places we’ve been – it’s the people we’ve come to know. Nowhere is this more evident than in the camp program. The Keep Movin’ camp program has evolved into Joy of Seasons which celebrates the seasons of our lives as well as the joy of over thirty years of intergenerational “camp”.

  • To empower women
  • To honor diversity
  • To build community
  • To celebrate many paths to spirit
  • To contribute to the common good by making a difference
  • To embrace the power of humor, laughter, and joy.

our history

joy of seasons

Joy of Seasons is a caring, diverse community of women who pursue joy together.

We have discovered our common threads as human beings through the shared experience of being an adult in summer camp. From this experience a sense of community has emerged, bringing feelings of well-being, POSSIBILITY, and trust. We feel at ease sharing who we are, what we have learned, and how we can make a difference. Joy of Seasons is a way to share the seasons of our lives.

Games and crafts. Singing, dancing, drumming. Walking, chair exercise, Yoga. Morning reflections and Sunday Ritual. The Hat Parade and Talent Night!  Time to relax, connect with friends and nature, or just take a nap.

We come from all segments of many communities and we believe in giving back. Every year, our Make A Difference program donates school supplies to Project Connect for homeless children. In 2019 we are making blankets for CASA, for children who have experienced abuse or neglect. We welcome suggestions for how we can serve our communities!

We began in 1980 as a fitness program for older adults, called Keep Movin’. The activities included exercise, dance, walking, swimming and seasonal camp programs. As more and more people joined, we began performing and presenting workshops to share the philosophy that it is never too late to Keep Movin’.
